The Summer Hairstyles

The Summer Hairstyles

Summer is the time when you need to keep your hair as clean as possible since a sweaty scalp can play havoc with your hair. It is thus best to keep your hair short during summer so that washing and maintaining it is not a headache. However, even long hair can be worn in certain styles to protect it from the scorching heat and sweat.

Short hair - Short haircuts like bobs and crops are the best during summer. You can wear super short bobs or upto shoulder length, a lot of variation can be added to bob hairstyle with fringes and layers. It can be altered to suit all face types. Choose your crop cut carefully depending your face shape. Most of the short hairstyles suit oval or heart shaped faces, however, if you have square or round face then add some wisps to soften the look and keep the length a little longer at the back.

Short haircut will make you look younger but you need to choose a good stylist or short hair can make you look manly instead of feminine. It is important to trim your short hair atleast once in 4 to 6 weeks.

Long hair - Long hair can be styled into a bun, braid, knots or plaits. Buns were considered to be very formal earlier and was usually worn by Indian brides but these days they can be worn casually by anyone, in fact it is best for the beaches. Unfortunately bun cannot be worn on short hair.

Braids on the other hand can be worn by both, people with long or short hair, they can be worn as a single strand and modified as per the face shape. Pony tails are also hot during summer, you can wear it high on your head with an elegant band for an evening out.

Plaits can be worn in different styles either one plait at the back or side or 2 plaits with a middle or side part. To give your plaits a casual look wear them a little loose. A half knot or french knot is also cool during summer, the idea is to tie your hair instead of leaving it open.
